Introduction to Heroes of Eldarune

Set in the mystical lands of Eldarune, HoE invites players to embark on epic battles, where strategy meets chance, and where every player can leave their mark on the game's evolution through our unique community-driven development approach.
Game Overview
HoE is accessible from both PC and mobile devices, offering players the flexibility to engage in battles anytime, anywhere. At the heart of HoE is the innovative use of NFTs, allowing players to own unique Champion cards and influence the game's future through the Eldarune DAO.
HoE focuses on both skill and luck at the same time to increase the joy of the game. Gameplay Mechanics
Players construct their decks with 10 Champion NFTs, each with unique abilities and stats, including Hit Points, Armor, and Damage. A free deck is available for those new to the game or without NFTs. Battles hinge on defeating the enemy by destroying their nest or eliminating all their Champion Cards. The game incorporates a mix of skill and luck, with a turn-based system where players gain Mana Points (MP) to deploy Champions and/or attack with their nests. Each player starts with 1 Mana Point and gets +1 MP after each turn. Every Champion NFT card has a different Mana Point(Blue Sphere - located bottom left) depending on its rarity. They also have following stats to help players create their strategies:
Hit Point (Red Sphere - located top left)
Armor(Grey Sphere - located bottom right)
Damage(Orange Sphere - located top right)
* Common Champion NFTs: Players need 1 MP to place a Common Champion card to the battle ground. * Uncommon Champion NFTs: Players need 2 MP to place an Uncommon Champion card to the battle ground.
* Rare Champion NFTs: Players need 4 MP to place a Rare Champion card to the battle ground.
* Epic Champion NFTs: Players need 6 MP to place an Epic Champion card to the battle ground.
* Legendary Champion NFTs: Players need 7 MP to place a Legendary Champion card to the battle ground. How to Start Playing HoE 1- Go to hoe.digard.io, login/register and connect your wallet.
2- Click the “Deck Builder” icon which is located in the right center of the page.
3- Pick your Champion NFTs to build your deck by clicking on the Champion Cards. Selected Champions will appear on the right side of the page. 4- You need to pick 10 Champion cards to make the “Find Match” button appear. (If you don't have any Champion NFTs in your wallet, you'll get a free deck to play the game. )
5- After clicking the “Find Match” button, wait till match with your opponent. The game will start after matchmaking is done. You can always try to "Find Opponent" on Eldarune discord.
As soon as the game starts, a dice will roll to determine which player will start. Each player starts with 5 Champion NFT cards which come randomly from their deck. To attack opponents, players need to place a Champion card to any empty slot on the battle ground. Players can attack their opponent's nest directly or their opponent's cards on the battle ground with Champion cards on the battle ground. Players must have enough MP to place Champion cards on the battle ground. But MP is not needed to attack. Besides Champions, players also can attack with their nest but it requires 2 MP to attack with the nest. Each player has 30 seconds per turn to select their cards and perform an attack. The turn duration is visually represented by a red line that gradually flows from left to right between the Battle slots, symbolizing the 30-second timeframe. Players must select their cards and launch an attack within this period. Should a player finish early, they can pass the turn by pressing the 'End Turn' button.
Player who manages to destroy all of his opponent's cards or kill his opponent wins the game. The game ends when either of these occurs. Dynamic Combat Mechanics: Enhancing Strategy with a Dash of Luck In Heroes of Eldarune (HoE), we intricately blend skill with luck to deliver a gaming experience that is both thrilling and unpredictable. This balance is vividly showcased in our combat mechanics, where Multipliers and Dodge chances come into play, adding a layer of depth and excitement to each battle.
Dodge Mechanics
Every attack in HoE carries with it an element of uncertainty, thanks to our Dodge mechanics. Players can DODGE, entirely avoiding an opponent's attack, making each confrontation a test of luck as well as strategy.
Multiplier Effects
To intensify the thrill of combat, attacks can hit with varying degrees of force, influenced by chance-based Multipliers. These are as follows:
Attacks can strike with a 1.5x Multiplier, adding significant impact to a standard attack.
Attacks can connect with a 1.35x Multiplier, offering a common but valuable boost to damage output.
For those moments of high drama and critical impact, attacks can unleash with a powerful 2x Multiplier, potentially turning the tide of battle in a single stroke.
Other Combat Mechanics:
Hit All Enemy Cards: Attacks that can target and hit all enemy cards.
Hit All Cards: Attacks that hit all cards on the battlefield, including allies.
Life Steal: Attacks that drain a percentage of the enemy's health to heal the attacker.
These mechanics ensure that each game is laced with moments of high anticipation and surprise. The potential for a Dodge or a critical hit with a Multiplier adds a layer of strategy that requires players to continuously adapt their tactics and expectations. Leaderboard and Scoring System: Fueling the Competitive Spirit
At the heart of "Heroes of Eldarune" lies a dynamic and engaging leaderboard system designed to fuel the competitive spirit of our players. This system not only recognizes the prowess and strategy of top players but also serves as a battleground for climbers seeking to etch their names among the legends of Eldarune. Here's how the scoring system operates to ensure every battle counts: Players earn 1 point for each game played,
Victory Against Higher-Ranked Opponents: When a player successfully defeats an opponent ranked higher on the leaderboard, they are rewarded with 10 points.
Victory Against Lower-Ranked Opponents: When a player successfully defeats an opponent ranked lower on the leaderboard, they are rewarded with 5 points
Defeat by Higher-Ranked Opponents: If a player is defeated by someone ranked higher, they lose 2 points.
Defeat by Lower-Ranked Opponents: If a player is defeated by someone ranked lower, they lose 5 points.
Additional Point Mechanics:
A player loses 2 points if they attack and lose to someone ranked above them, and a player loses 5 Points if they attack and lose to someone ranked below them.
Currently, rewards are distributed based on event-specific criteria, offering various opportunities for players to gain valuable rewards that enhance their gameplay experience. For detailed information on events and reward mechanisms, players are encouraged to join our Discord community where updates and discussions take place.
As players engage in the world of HoE, they will find that these elements of luck do not overshadow skill but rather enhance the richness of the gameplay experience. Whether you're carefully planning your next move or holding your breath for a lucky dodge or critical hit, these mechanics ensure that no two battles are ever the same.
Embrace the unpredictability, strategize with the odds in mind, and let fortune guide your path to victory in Heroes of Eldarune.
